Santander set out to build a rewards and loyalty platform capable of supporting millions of customers, a growing network of partners, and an expanding catalogue of products. The platform needed to operate in real time, with no friction for the end user.
From the start, the solution was shaped around Santander's current needs, with a scalable framework ready to support growth without rework.


The platform was built on four pillars: marketplace, loyalty, integration and accounting. The marketplace manages partners, products, and offers, while the loyalty engine defines rules for earning and redeeming rewards based on customer activity. These are supported by an integration layer that connects internal systems through event-driven communication and data contracts. Lastly, the accounting component tracks transactions, supports reconciliation, and ensures auditability across cost centers and partners.
